Teacher’s Introduction

Saint Kabir Das was the Indian spiritual poet, and he was born in the 15th century. He taught us to have a more personal relationship with God through meditation and love, rather than relying on old rituals performed in a mechanical and monotonous way. Through His deep poetry, he motivated us to seek God within via devotion and right understanding rather than through exterior symbols. Kabir Das's modest and contemplative life was a combination of Bhakti (devotion) and Sufism. His teachings are still guiding those who are seeking enlightenment and connection with God.

Meditation techniques

1.
Silent Chanting of the Name

Saint Kabir Das motivated us to repeat holy names, such as Ram, Hari, or any mantra. This method would bring about deep spiritual enlightenment and assist us in calming our minds and clearing them of all distractions.

Sahaj Dhyan, or Breath Awareness Meditation

According to Saint Kabir, our breath is the divine, and one way to bring calmness and serenity into our lives is through practicing mindful breathing exercises.

We should try to unite ourselves with the five elements—space, earth, fire, water, and air. These are the basic building blocks of nature, and it would help us see the interconnectedness of all things.

We must honour the good things in our lives, and feeling thankful for what we have will help us dispel negativity and bring inner peace.

Meditation through action, or karma yoga

We should perform our daily tasks with complete focus and dedication, and meditation is an act of selfless service.

Meditation with the Heart (Hriday Dhyan)

According to Kabir, the holy dwells within our hearts, and we must meditate on It with love and dedication.

Light Meditation, also known as Jyoti Dhyan

He brought up the inner light frequently. During meditation, we should see a holy inner light, which can help to clear our minds and bring about keen mindfulness.

Kabir recommended that we be in the company of saints and enlightened beings. It would raise our spiritual vibrations, and our awareness would deepen.
